ZILA

About

About ZILA?

ZILA? (ज़िला = district) is a love letter to India's 780+ districts. Every clue is written from cited sources and checked against the present-day district it describes.

Data & coverage

India's external boundaries follow Survey of India's portrayal. District boundaries are reconciled to the current LGD list; where a district was created or reorganised after our boundary data, it is marked approximate or unmapped rather than guessed.

Sources & licences

Clue packs cite official district portals, government tourism and culture bodies, ASI/UNESCO and reference works. Packs marked “preview” are source-cited but not yet approved by a human editor.

Language

English and Hindi today; more Indian languages are planned.
